Marie R. Coleman History Room

The Meade County Public Library History Room was dedicated in 2011 in honor of Marie R. Coleman, director of the Meade County Public Library from 1954 to 1991, who had a passion for Meade County history and genealogical research. Miss Coleman also was Meade County’s first library director.

The Marie R. Coleman History Room houses a wide variety of local and surrounding areas historical research books and materials as well as local newspapers, yearbooks, family history, deeds, vital records and other miscellaneous records. A microfilm machine is available for patron use.

No appointment necessary, just sign in at the front desk to access the room. Library staff are happy to help with any questions you may have.
