Reading Incentives & Challenges

Meade County Public Library creates and promotes multiple reading challenges and incentives throughout the year. We use paper logging or the option to track using Beanstack, where you can create a free account to track and log your reading.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

For children from birth to the start of Kindergarten, this program challenges children and their caregivers to read 1,000 books. Kids earn prizes along the way. Books can be tracked using paper logs or online using Beanstack.

Bowser’s Bookmarks

For readers of all ages, our Library turtle, Bowser, loves books! Pick up a bookmark from the front desk and read five books from Bowser’s selections or from the general collection and turn your bookmark in for a prize.

Year-Long Reading Challenge

For readers 15 and older, challenge yourself to read 52 books in a year! Read a book for each prompt; track your reading using paper logs or online using Beanstack. Turn in the log in December for a prize!

Year-Long Genre Reading Challenge

For readers 15 and older, challenge yourself to read 12 different genres in a year! Read a book for each prompt; track your reading using paper logs or online using Beanstack. Turn in the log in December for a prize!
