At Meade County Public Library, we value our teenage volunteers. Our teen volunteers build their resumes by assisting during programs, setting up and cleaning up from large events, filling bags for passive programs like STEM kits and the Seed Library, and so much more! Teens get a behind the scenes glance at how library programs are planned, prepared, and presented.
Teenage volunteers at the library must be between the ages of 14 and 18 and in high school. They are required to complete a 1 hour volunteer training and sign a behavior agreement. They can sign up for volunteer opportunities at volunteer training events, teen programs, or by stopping by the Teen Room to see what opportunities are posted.
Our next volunteer training opportunity is August 13th from 6-6:45 pm. Teenagers who want to volunteer at the library in the fall must attend this training. Another training will be offered in the Spring, but teens who have not completed teen volunteer training will be unable to volunteer until they have completed training.
